Sharing Some Fun Projects

I wanted to share these projects with you- maybe you can store the idea away until next holiday season! ☺ Some fun things we did w/ the kids class over the holidays- we made these foam magnet frames and the kids had fun embellishing them and framing their own artwork! Made great gifts too!

And here's a great idea from our local bakery (and SO yummy too!)

Make it Merry Blog Hop

Thank you for visiting my blog! My name is Janelle and I live in Iowa (right near the South Dakota and Minnesota borders). I have two little girls ages 2 and 4 and my husband is a middle school band and art teacher and I'm a stay-at-home-mom! I love to scrapbook but my weakness is scrapp'n the holidays- so I'm so happy to have completed this special project! Oh, and I'm terrible at journaling so I hid it along the border! ☺

I wanted to use some new techniques I've seen lately like the paper pleating and the ruffle ribbon (thanks Georgana!) and I really enjoyed myself. Plus, I just had to use the glitter glue from one of the recent BWS kits- love those kits!! ♥♥ If you are just joining the blog hop click here to start from the beginning! I love the red snowflake paper and with my little girls I just had to add some flowers and some bling!

Thank you so much for Hopping by and Make it Merry! ♥ Your next stop on the hop is

My girls were so excited for their little gifts! I have a 2yo and a 4yo and both were equally thrilled! ☺

Cherish the little things in life! I love that sentiment and I love the way this fun page turned out with pictures of my little one laughing it up and being silly and fun! (:

Kid's Project

My girls (ages 4 and 18 mos) made these frames in the craft room on our vacation awhile back, and I wanted to share the idea b/c I think it's fun and easy and turns out to be a great decoration or gift!

They used plain wood (some were varnished others were not) frames that you can pick up for around $1 a piece. They then used "tacky glue" (they poured some out on paper plates and let the smaller kids use paintbrushes to apply the glue!) to attach the clear flat-backed stones (the kind you buy in the mesh bags at the craft stores) all around the frame. It took awhile to dry but it dries clear and any excess glue can be washed away. The final results are so sparkly and pretty and I love that the craft ladies took pictures of the kids from that day for us to put in the frames!

I definately think we'll be doing this project again at home and maybe even for our next parent/child scrapbooking night too! (:

Here is another great creation made by Chantel of MySunshineDesigns! New to her shop are these wonderful key fobs/ keychains they are so handy and durable! They help you to keep your keys organized and you can slip them over your wrist to keep your hands free for holding groceries, kids or dog leashes! (: I love the look of the XOXO black and white ribbon she used from my shop on this one, but she has a wide array of fun styles available. Visit her shop for more creative inspiration and for some fun shopping!

I love this children's ribbon belt made by Chantel of My Sunshine Designs using some of the blue and white striped ribbon from my shop and A LOT of talent!! I love the D-ring belts for my little girl b/c they grow with her and are much more adjustable than regular belts. And this one is way sturdier & so much cuter than the flimsy one we have so I'll be buying one soon!

Visit MySunshineDesigns shop for lots of other wonderful creations too!
