Easy Peasy Little Summer Layout

Celebrate Summer!

Quick post to share this quick and easy layout with you! You can get a paper pack similar to this one as a Summer PIF in my shop while supplies last! The backside of the paper even has a grid/template to show you an idea of how to turn a fun 12x12 paper into an instant layout! Great for beginner scrapbookers and also just fun to whip out a quick page! I was very happy with the end result!

Supplies Used:
Pastel Paper Pack or PIF Summer Paper Pack
Little Things Colored Rubons
Cream and Pink Dots Twill Ribbon
Raspberry Lime Cardstock Pack

Kid's Project

My girls (ages 4 and 18 mos) made these frames in the craft room on our vacation awhile back, and I wanted to share the idea b/c I think it's fun and easy and turns out to be a great decoration or gift!

They used plain wood (some were varnished others were not) frames that you can pick up for around $1 a piece. They then used "tacky glue" (they poured some out on paper plates and let the smaller kids use paintbrushes to apply the glue!) to attach the clear flat-backed stones (the kind you buy in the mesh bags at the craft stores) all around the frame. It took awhile to dry but it dries clear and any excess glue can be washed away. The final results are so sparkly and pretty and I love that the craft ladies took pictures of the kids from that day for us to put in the frames!

I definately think we'll be doing this project again at home and maybe even for our next parent/child scrapbooking night too! (:

Creative Inspiration

Here is another wonderful card I'm so excited to share with you made by Ellie of Ellie's Stamp Garden! I just love the color combos here (teal and brown are so fun together!) and she used some of the sheer teal w/ brown dots ribbon from my shop! Be sure to visit her blog as she has posted some great step-by-step instructions for this card (plus lots of other goodies!) like how to do the no-tie bowtie and the stamped dots on the card-- she is so talented and clever!

Are you inspired? I am!

I want to share another great card made by Jill of jillybeangreetings using some pink stitched ribbon from my shop! She is so talented and I absolutely love the color combos on this thanks card and all of her creations! Please visit her shop, it's so delightful and I hope you'll get a little inspiration from her wonderfully made card! I know the wheels are turning in my head for a lime green/pink scrapbook page! (:

PS-- I wish I could 1. sew and 2. tie a bow that nice or even 1/2 that nice!!

Layered Chipboard Album

Here's another project we'll be making in the summer rec youth scrapbooking class (of course, there will be lots of color choices avail. and also rub-ons to decorate the albums with and lots of fun ribbon styles too!)

I love these thick layered chipboard albums b/c they are not flimsy at all and they hold up so nice! They are covered in scrapbook-safe white paper, so you don't have to cover them completely with ink or paper if you don't want to, and you can even paint them! Plus, I'm just not a big fan of the thin brown chipboard for albums. I love the sweet life, pattern papers, and fun ribbons on this album-- plus the rings make the album even sturdier!

If you are local and want more info on the class, visit the rec website!
